Paul Ryan, the wonky Wisconsin GOP congressman, was standing next to Michelle Bachmann, the folksy Minnesota Republican.

As Boehner and the rest of the House leadership entered the room after Fridays vote, the Republican members of Congress in attendance let out a hurrah of support.
Our message to the United States Senate is real simple: the American people dont want the government shut down, Boehner said. And they dont want Obamacare.
Added Boehner, as the conference roared in applause: The House has listened to the American people. Now its time for the United States Senate listen to them as well.

Show your support folks!
Maybe,0 forgot to turn on his mind control device for a day and some of congressmen and their common sense and spine returned for a few moments
You fight with the Army you have, not the Army you wish you had.
Lord knows I’m an unrelenting critic of Speaker Boehner. Just check my positing history if you want proof. But so long as he stands tall and does the right thing, I’ll happily support him.
By the way, folks. Don’t forget your manners. When people do the right thing, you thank them. Please remember to call your reps as well as the leadership and say thank you. It’ll take just a few minutes.
That's right. I find myself writing more letters when I'm mad. My letters to my CongressCritters have been unrelentingly negative this past year. It's time for a pat on the back.

Bullcrap!!!
GOP Doc: Vote to Defund Obamacare, Let Senate Erase It
A document House Majority Leader Eric Cantor distributed to all House Republicans on Tuesday, obtained by Breitbart News, confirms that he is planning to make it appear as though the House is voting to defund Obamacare while using a legislative procedural trick which would allow the Democrat-controlled Senate to strip defunding language from the Continuing Resolution.
We’re being played for suckers again, and many in here falling for it.
I read that thatwas what was going to happen also.
Not sure how this will play out, but on the other side Obama thinks he can win the midterm elections by blaming a government shutdown on the republicans.
Very high stakes because it’s exactly as Boehner said, people don’t want a shutdown or Obamacare.
Thanks SoFloFreeper.
Not bullcrap. That link is old news, even Jim DeMint is pleased with the House action:
Did you see Heritage President @JimDeMint’s statement on the House vote today? http://t.co/xL6SQvwiEA
Alabama Senators Sessions and Shelby seem on the right side of this.. Reid probably won’t let it get a vote.
Yes, being played, again
Unfortunately too many folks here do not know the difference between a Republican and a Conservative. They think “Conservative” is only what Fox News says
To think Boehner and the GOPe are helping conservatives is just being Low Info Voter
Mike Huckaphoney was on Fox and Friends this morning whining about it.
see post 12
That was an old article written on Sep. 10. Better to check the latest CR to see what they voted on.
“In P.J. O’Rourkes book Parliament of Whores he spent some time with a senator and was allowed to view his mail. The months totals were 3000 gripes and pleas for favors and 2 thank you notes.”
Exactly. It’s the right thing to do. But not coincidentally, it’s also an unusual thing to do and will stick in their minds as a result.
“Paul Ryan, the wonky Wisconsin GOP congressman, was standing next to Michelle Bachmann, the folksy Minnesota Republican.”
Gotta love these simplistic and cartoon like descriptions. Given Bachman’s background as a tax lawyer, it’s likely she can “wonk” as much as Ryan.
