I am not familiar with Ross' views except that he is an Old Earth Creationist Christian Physicist.
Then again, anyone who believes in God the Creator is a Creationist by definition - he doesn't have to agree with the other guy's interpretation of God's revelation in Scripture and nature.
Some Creationists are OEC, some YEC, some Gap, some Gosse Omphalos Hypothesis, some last Thursdayism and so on.
Personally, I'm both OEC and YEC because I agree with Jewish Physicist Gerald Schroeder that when one considers Relativity - the Big Bang and Inflationary Model - that the universe is approximately 15 billion years old from our present space/time coordinates and also approximately an equivalent week old from the inception space/time coordinates.
That’s a fascinating fillip on the OEC, to have a relativistic time frame in which the creation would have taken, yup, a week.
You’d almost think God had the last laugh on the scientists.
And “He rode on a cherub and flew”... comes to my mind once you mention that. Flew at near warp speeds, if the explanation holds up.
Anyhow, the sciences are a marvelous vehicle of the display of the glory of God. When they don’t get arrogant and “the axe tries to wield the one who swings it.”
I’m surprised that with your area of interest you hadn’t come across Ross. http://www.reasons.org (Reasons To Believe) is his web site and it is just cram full of OEC related articles. I met him personally once at a presentation he gave, and my church’s pastor was there, one of the best small church bible teachers I have ever met. And Pastor told me afterward that Ross nailed the theology square, though he personally was a YEC believer.
