Those are both virtually automatic awards, fatima. The Global War on Terrorism medal goes to anyone who has served actively since 9/11/01 and the National Defense Service Medal goes to anyone who serves honorably any time during a declared state of emergency. If this guy’s discharge was honorable, he’d get it.
