Typical female politician “think.”

SAFETY! CHILDREN! SCHOOLS! SAFETY! CHILDREN! SCHOOLS! and on and on and on........

And......who do they expect to provide this SAFETY? The nanny, politically correct, Socialists of course. And??? Who is their main body of support? Women of course who are more concerned with the safety of children than their own safety and freedoms.

A D will lose anyway. However, there are a lot of scumbag R’s like Dewhurst that could screw it up.

Sounds about right for a Democrat stronghold.

I’m sure she won’t get my vote if she decides to run-—LOL!

Ditto.

Do your research. We have PLENTY of MARXISTS here that would love to ban guns from Texas entirely.

We have Sheila (I’m a retard) Jackson Lee, we have the Castro brothers from San Antonio, we have Lloyd Doggett, and numerous others.

I don’t even know why they live here. They hate our freedoms! What’s left of them.

Greg Abbott could have a slam dunk here, if he came out and loudly endorsed legal open carry. He already has, but it should be a banner headline on his campaign.

http://mattsdowling.com/attorney-general-greg-abbott-talks-guns/

“I saved the last question of the interview to ask (Attorney) General Abbott if he supported open carry. I wanted to get a clear answer, so I just asked for a “Yes” or “No” answer and he responded with a “Yes.” He later added that he felt an open carry law would have similar success as the Concealed Handgun License Laws have had in Texas.”

While this is good, he should run with it with confidence, as it has zero potential to cost him any votes by those that oppose him, and could make his supporters even more enthusiastic about supporting him.

As an aside, back in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, when there was the second big wave of gun control in the US, as well as arguments about self defense in the home with guns, a new District Attorney had been elected in Phoenix, and the reporters wanted to know his opinions on the subject.

So at his first press conference they asked him: “What should people do if someone breaks into their home?”

His reply was golden. “You shoot the S.O.B.!” And he did not abbreviate that expression. Total clarity by everyone.

And that has remained the policy in Phoenix ever since, now just taken for granted in *legal* settings. Prosecutors, defense councils, and courts all understand that rule and follow it, as if it is written in concrete.

No equivocation. No parsing. No interpretation needed. No confusion. Exactly what gun law should be.

And the same should apply to Texas open carry.

Need a law that says - you take any entitlement payments at all, whatsoever, you forfeit the right to vote for 10-12 years.

Um... Isn’t Sheila Jackson Lee from Texas?

HELL NO!

She is from New York and MOVED to Texas! Saying SJL is from Texas is much like calling Bradley Manning a "she." You can call yourself a stump, but that doesn't make you one!

The second amendment is always front and center in any election held in the state of Texas....it is there just daring any liberal to bring it up. As far as Miss Davis supporting CWP students being able to bring their guns to school, Miss Davis is like any liberal on the issue. She will fain support until elected at which time she will start implementing the liberal incremental strategy.First limiting carrying to the glove box of your car then to the trunk then only if the ammo is stored separate from the weapon then only on rainy days etc. etc. etc.!!! There will not be a governor Davis for quite a while in Texas.

Funny thing is, Davis and Perry seem like they belong together.

There are liberal bastions in Texas.....and that is where their influence ends. Sure liberals get elected in Texas....in local elections!

Still the point was made that Anti-BoR politicians can’t get elected in Texas. This was patently an... over statement.

Texas has been heading in the right direction... Generally. But y’all still got some work to do.

Wish I was still down there to help out. Maybe once all the in-laws and out-laws die out up here, I can talk my other Half into moving back. “Family first” though.

Guns won’t be an issue because anyone who opposes the Bill Of Rights in Texas can’t get elected.

Not in a State-wide election, not even a democratic primary.
