... a local burger joint outside of Detroit, Mich. is going to start to paying $15 an hour to new employees on October 1.
Moo Cluck Moo is currently paying its entry level employees $12 an hour, far above the state minimum wage of $7.40.
We always wanted to be at $15 an hour. It just feels human to do it. Its not an easy job to do.

How many tens of thousands do they have?
If it’s a high end burger place, and they have sharp-looking staff, and great service, they’ll do fine. But, then people should remember that they are paying up to be selective in their hiring.
That will give them good press, and everything will be OK until some slob in some protected class cries “discrimination” because they weren’t hired, or were fired for not being up to snuff. The libs and unions want “gimmee” money, whether in the form of free stuff, or over-payment for work.
Look at the cushy life of many double or triple-dipping state employees. Recall how some police are able to base their retirement on the last year’s earnings, so they juice them by working 100-hour weeks full of “detail” overtime. We are headed to a government apparatchik upper-class run society, who milks all below them.
They’ll been closed within six months.
That will change due to Obamacare. Fewer hours at a higher wage.
In Detroit? Do I get combat pay also? Pay for hazardous duty? Can I carry also? Dunno, rather make minimum wage somewhere else.
Plastic straws.
Not if 1 $15.00 an hour employee replaces 2 or more $12.00 per hour employees.
