That got me all choked up.
When I briefly served in the Air Force many years ago I had “Flag duty”. I lead 3 others twice a day to raise and lower the flags on a memorial for fallen Airmen.
I was a stupid young guy just trying to get through.
It is very difficult to express how that simple task has impacted me and shaped my understanding.
There is only one word, both simple and complete that I can express.
