The law is intentionally discriminatory against men in favor of women. The name of the law--the Violence Against Women Act--says it all, even though statistically men are as likely to be victims of domestic violence as women.
I’m an attorney and I agree with you both. Special treatment under the law based on gender is just a feminist corruption of equal treatment under the law. I’ve seen it play out in court. And of course a “good” lawyer will know how to exploit that bias in the law for the benefit of their client.
