Then after I posted it, I could see how it could easily be taken the wrong way. It was unintentional. Sorry.
No worries - she is going home soon I imagine, and the Lord has got her wrapped up in His arms.
I like the third song about Angels watching over her. While she’s not afraid, she does have an “angel” of sorts (my wife) watching over her. The rest of the family isn’t too “religious”, so I’m glad my wife is there to pray with her and read the Bible. My wife was wondering if she should stay with my mom or come home with me with the kids starting school and all. She prayed about it, and that “still small voice” said “stay”. (I don’t get those - she says it happens as quick as she thinks the question so it isn’t her answering her own question.)
A few nights later she was praying about how long she should stay, and quickly heard “you’ll know”. (NOT exactly the answer she was looking for! Are they ever!?)
One of my mom’s favorite verses is Psalm 91:4 “He will cover thee with his pinions, And under his wings shalt thou take refuge: His truth is a shield and a buckler.” Fits well with your last song which is very beautiful.
Thank you.
Just heard back and the hospice nurse is still at my mom’s house adjusting the morphine levels to try to get her comfortable. I wish I was there, but take comfort that I was able to spend some time with her, and to apologize to her for being such a terror as a child, and not realizing how great a mom she was until I was in my twenties. Of course I imagine that is the way it is with lots of kids.
