I wish but, I doubt it...

You are basing that statement that the majority of citizens of this country want to be free...but an ever increasing part of this country will willingly give up freedom for security...

Even a poverty stricken one...

That may be. There is also a strong undercurrent against these overseas adventures. That crowd shifted to Obama after Bush, but it seems clear Obama is even more anxious to get involved in these middle east wars. When the public rejects that, they’ll be looking for an alternative, and that will be a Rand Paul type. Part of the natural pendulum swing.
