John Kerry, the American secretary of state, has said that the United States now has evidence of sarin gas use in Syria and said "the case gets stronger by the day" for a military attack.
President Bashar al-Assad, he said, "has now joined the list of Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein" in deploying chemical weapons against his population.
A day after President Barack Obama stepped back from his threat to launch an attack, Mr Kerry said in a series of interviews on the Sunday news shows that the administration had learnt of the sarin use within the past 24 hours through samples of hair and blood. The samples were provided to Washington by activists in Damascus, independently of the UN investigation.
Mr Kerry also said he was confident that Congress will give Mr Obama its backing for an attack against Syria, but he also said the president has authority to act on his own if Congress doesn't give its approval. While Mr Kerry stopped short of saying Mr Obama was committed to such a course even if politicians refuse to authorise force, he did tell ABC's This Week that "we are not going to lose this vote."
Congress is scheduled to return from a summer break on Sept. 9.

Well, that settles it then. Release the hounds! < /S >
“Cry ‘Havoc!’, and let slip the dogs of war”.
Who cares. We don’t need to get involved. Protect Israel and tell Europe to bug off.
I have a question, Jim.
From your post I could not tell if you think America should have gone into Vietnam.
When, since WWII, in your opinion has America gone in at the right time, the wrong time, or didn’t go in when they should have, or did go in when they shouldn’t have.
I realize that this is a long question that you may not have time to answer, but I would be curious to hear your views.
Thanks in advance.
Damned right we were right! I remember when we used to fight the damned communists. I was there.
Then along came traitors Fonda, Kerry, Cronkite, et al.
And then after America surrendered, hundreds of thousands of innocent Vietnamese, Cambodians, etc, were slaughtered by the communists.
Now we have a communist occupying the White House.
We’ve fallen a long way due to treason.
Damned shame.

Just in time for 9/11 and everyone knows how the Muslims love their holidays to create "mayhem".
I've read that Boehner has called the House of Representatives members to return Tuesday.
Why all of Congress is not up there right now is beyond me.
US might attack Syria while members of Congress are roasting hot dogs back home is surreal.
Surreal? More like normal lately.
“US might attack Syria while members of Congress are roasting hot dogs back home is surreal.”
Well, I guess that settles that.
Wonder how many trillions it will cost to convince Congress members to vote with B. Hussein O.'s war...
Why should we get involved in wars where Arabs are killing Arabs? They have no use for us, only in money for oil.
Remember 9/11 when MANY in the Arab world were delighted and cheering at our loss.
Let’s not forget that Obama has used drones to kill terrorists an in doing so has killed many innocent women and children. Time for us to stop being the policemen of the world and protect our own borders and security.
Welllll, I also remember when he told us he spent Christmas
Eve in Cambodia. Do I believe him now? HEH HEH HEH.
Yeah, and we were supposed to believe the birth certificate was real too.
"Work Accident"----------->send OSHA in.
OH Navy Patriot, You don’t believe him? Remember he received 3 purple hearts and a Silver Star with a “V”, in VietNam. He threw them away when he returned stateside, but now they are hanging in his office. How’d he do that? Yep, he’a a
politician to be believed.
Pen name refers to Moltke the Elder (died 1891). No WWI involvement.
I sort of figured as much, but that wasn’t chemical warfare in the sense used by Kerry. Might as well call lethal injection (uses chemicals) CW on civilians...(and no, I’m not comparing that to the Holocaust in case someone wonders)
Copies or the originals?
The medals he tossed - were they even his?
He is so very untrustworthy.
Remember when a guy threw his shoe at GWB - its a great insult.
Bush dodged pretty well though!
Putting the sole of his shoe on the presidential desk shows disrespect.
"He thinks he's cool, but guess what, he's not."
Maybe in his own little reality JK is the best he could come up with.
If so, the timing is all wrong. That weird plumpness needs a little time to calm down.
Syria is really a downer for Kerry cosmetic wise./s
*snicker*
