Since those ammo buys are spread out over five years, I guess they'll wait four more years or so before cutting off the power.

The show Revolution has showed enough people what plausibly could happen if the grid was brought down. Surprised NBC would allow a show to represent how bad weapons confiscation would be. A nation split between warlords would not be out of the question.
