Sarah Palin jumped into the political fray over Syrian military intervention with a blistering Facebook post opposing any military action. Palin argues that while Americans are sympathetic to the plight of those suffering under Bashar al-Assad, theres too much uncertainty about what the outcome could be and many of the rebels are al Qaeda-affiliated, so as far as shes concerned, let Allah sort it out.
Palin mockingly refers to Obama as our Nobel Peace Prize winning President, hitting him for lacking a clear and decisive plan, as well as potentially going around Congress to take unilateral action. She questions the logic of getting involved in Syria now, only after chemical weapons were used, when thousands and thousands of Syrians were being killed well before Assad crossed the red line.
We didnt intervene when over 100,000 Syrians were tragically slaughtered by various means, but well now intervene to avenge the tragic deaths of over 1,000 Syrians killed by chemical weapons, though according to the White House were not actually planning to take out the chemical weapons because doing so would require too much of a commitment.
She also spoke to public opinion on Syrian intervention, telling Obama he needs to go with the will of the people on this one.
Theres no explanation of what vital American interests are at stake there today amidst yet another centuries-old internal struggle between violent radical Islamists and a murderous dictatorial regime, and we have no business getting involved anywhere without one. And wheres the legal consent of the peoples representatives? Our allies in Britain have already spoken. They just said no. The American people overwhelmingly agree, and the wisdom of the people must be heeded.
She accuses the president of only considering military strikes to save political face over his red line threat, concluding that we are still dangerously uncertain of the outcome and the U.S. needs to stay out of it.
Yep that’s what JD said...
Meh. Sarah Palin is where she will probably always be. I don’t see her running for anything, so she’s not going to run anything but her mouth. I happen to like her, but that’s irrelevant.
She lives rent-free in the heads of some pretty bad people, so she has a use. Love her or hate her, it’s fun to watch liberals rage at her.
Obama has made few decisions and all that he made were utter failures that demonstrated his character. Regardless of the direction he suggests the GOP had better sit it out or else. Stop carrying water for this fool!
What does this prove?
Rush Limbaugh is right. This use of chemicals against civilians, if it happened, was merely to get the American people behind military intervention against Bashar. It’s the Muslim Brotherhood, of which Obama is a card-carrying member, faking a chemical attack by the government.
This photo is no doubt a propaganda issue.
Good photographic point!
This conflict isn’t “winnable” in any sense. There are no good guys. This is why the overwhelming number of Americans oppose intervention.
The photo at #15 looks nothing like the photo of the children at Waco...different gas, I guess...
It's also a monument to the people who scoffed at the "Domino Theory," and our involvement in Vietnam. I hope they're satisfied with the slaughter of almost 30% of Cambodia's population.
Stormer, you are so wrong that even an amateur historian wouldn't know where to begin.
America wouldn't have had a Marshall plan had we stayed home during WWI.
There would have been no WWII. The Soviet Union would have died on the vine and crumbled under its own Marxist weight. That means there would have been no Korea, no Communist China, no Vietnam and no Muslims over here blowing up buildings and no US intervention in Muslim nations.
America can't even defend itself. Our porous borders are an example of a nation in serious decline. We need to be taking a meat axe to our monstrous central socialist government. There's an enemy for us to recognize and decapitate. We nonchalantly have allowed an evil Communist regime to exist a mere 90 miles from our coast, yet we're eager to jump into a Muslim civil war.
You’re like a dog with a bone, Stormer and risk being labeled a bonehead by many here. I’ll wager there’s not a Conservative bone in your body!
With a statement like that it is clear that you're no friend of Sarah Palin.
Thanks for the clarification. I didn’t know Sarah Palin is a FReeper named “IbJensen.”
No problemo, Liberty. (As our illegal entrants would say.)
If she runs, I’d vote for her in a Tennessee second. :^)
