White House officials ratcheted up the rhetoric to unprecedented levels Friday as they try to rally international and public support for an airstrike in Syria, following rebuffs by friendly foreign governments and polls showing public skepticism over any intervention.
But Secretary of State John Kerry also hinted that the potential strike may be postponed for some time.
President Obama will ensure that the United States of America makes our own decisions on our own timelines, based on our values and our interests, he said.
The statement mixed calls for international solidarity with declarations that the U.S. would decide its own actions.
It included claims that the U.S. has a moral duty to respond to the attack with cold-blooded statements that the U.S. would act on its own interests.

Yep. Just posted that on my site and Twitter. It is worth looking at.

Looks like the administration is out on a limb by themselves. Not entirely. The French are still with him.
Seriously...I'm not joking.

The statement mixed [phony]
calls for international solidarity with declarations that the U.S. would decide its own actions. Funny how J F'ing Kerry (and his sidekick SanFranNan) are speaking 180 degrees from how they saw an identical issue about going to war against Iraq in 2013 ...
Kerry ... ultimately boils it down to a technical point, which is correct, but nevertheless one that he's had a hard time explaining ever since, which is "I [as a U.S. Senator] am not being asked to vote for war. This is not a declaration of war. I am being asked to give the President of the United States the authority to go to war if he sees fit, down the road, after a set of assurances that he's made to us and the Congress, to the American people, to the world community, that he will only use force as a last resort. I'm authorizing him to use force and the threat of force to backup very, very intense diplomacy.
Um .... johnny .... how come you and your boss are IGNORING the U.S. House, Senate, American people and the "world community" this time?
Pelosi, first elected to Congress in 1987, focused her remarks on foreign policy and security issues. Bush, she said, "has pursued a go-it-alone foreign policy that leaves us isolated abroad and that steals the resources we need for education and health care here at home." "The president led us into the Iraq war on the basis of unproven assertions without evidence; he embraced a radical doctrine of pre-emptive war unprecedented in our history; and he failed to build a true international coalition," she added. "As a nation, we must show our greatness, not just our strength. America must be a light to the world, not just a missile."
I detest lying, partisan hack hypocrites who don't have a single honest bone in their entire bodies.

Lets forget for a second that we all hate Obama, Kerry and their ilk. In fact, lets forget that this is about Syria and weapons and war. Lets say its about football.
Lets say Coach Blatherbottom of the St. Anky School for the mentally challenged comes out to talk about next weeks game...and the Coach says “we plan to go into the game Friday and we’re going to stop the run, and the short pass, but we definitely WONT make any move to stop the long pass”. Well, guess what they are going to see on Friday...long bombs left and right.
This is the same dumb@ss thing we’ve done in every war since WW2 and why, with the exception of very targeted operations such as Panama or Grenada we either end up in a quagmire, or “complete objectives” without winning or eliminating the threat.
In Vietnam, we dont turn the warriors loose, try to be humanitarians and we get stuck. We get hit on 9/11, and immediately we announce how we are going to try to avoid civilian casualties and that nukes are off the table, and end up dragging on and having to slink out of Afghanistan. Now, we get into Syria but say we wont get fully involved...telling anyone and everyone they just have to outlast the limited stuff we do.
I have a simple standard for going to war again. Do it when, and ONLY when, the only game plan is to do anything and EVERYTHING required to secure victory and crush the enemy.

Did anyone notice Kerry’s face this AM? First of all, he had so much pancake makeup on that it loked like it had been applied by a spatula. As you atch the reruns and the commentary — notice his face, keeping in mind that ALL of the newscasters wear makeup. Look at how much more Kerry is wearing. And then notice the lack of lines and shadows in his face. I think he’s been heavily Bo-toxed as well.

Something about his rhetoric reminded me of this:
