Newt's an unreliable loose cannon and a political mixed bag. He's also a narcissist of the first order. That hasn't stopped him from being right on a lot of issues, and for making a good case for them.
As I said, I'm happy to see him (and any Republican) move away from the neoconservative position and closer to that of Reaganite foreign policy realists like the late Lawrence Eagleburger.
