A Republican lawmaker is rallying support to pressure President Barack Obama into seeking congressional authorization for military strikes against Syria.
Rep. Scott Rigell of Virginia is asking colleagues to sign a letter to Obama that urges him to reconvene Congress and seek approval for any military action.

"Heck, a few measly bombs on Syria will pump your resume, after you screwed up that video thing."
"And besides at $50 billion per day for the incursion, all my Muslim loyalists get to pocket a few hundred million."
"War profiteering is big bucks according to my ex-COS Rahm Emanuel."
I wrote my rep (R) and told him to grow a pair and tell the wanna be king to stand down.
Call or write your reps, tell them the same.
No “wag the dog” to “send a message”.
Where’s Boehnor? Under his desk as usual.
He’ll have that rodeo clown over for a beer summit before THIS ever happens. How dare they question the King!
Well you know, Obama told them just the other day that they don’t have a whole lot of core responsibilities. They don’t matter in a dictatorship.
I think deliberately lobbing a missile into a sovereign nation — any sovereign nation — will be a declaration of war, regardless of what is going on inside the target nation.
If there is a national security issue for the U.S. involved, the U.S. Congress AND the U.S. people need to be told what it is and shown positive proof. Are there secrets “too dangerous” for us to know? Exactly what is motivating the president of the U.S. to keep edging toward war with a divided Syria (both factions of which are anti-American) and a probable explosive result throughout the Middle East?
Are we going to finally get up the courage to impeach our president or we going to allow him to continue to drag us toward WWIII?
The GOP is just trying to be relevant. If Obama asks, they’ll approve overwhelmingly.
Has anyone in the so-called press asked the administration “where” Syria got the chemical weapons (if they really used them) in the first place? Stuff like that doesn’t grow on trees. It did sit around in Iraq though prior to 2003 though.
Have they forgotten? He has them all blackmailed. They’ll rubber stamp this one.
Have they forgotten? He has them all blackmailed. Theyll rubber stamp this one.
Both Congress and the Supreme Court degenerated into rubber stamps a long, long time ago. They're just somewhat more frank about it today.
Defund ALL of his operations, then proceed with Congressional oversight.
Dreamland.
Why the HELL are these clowns hat in hand BEGGING obozo to come to the Hill for their approval??
WHERE ARE THE MEN????
For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah* the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water, / The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient, / The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator. / And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. / And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.* As you can see, almost all this applies to us today as well; the only thing that has not happened yet is shortages of water and food, but the shortage of real men on the political scene is plainly evident, as is the start of anarchic behavior on the street. Amazing how quickly it happened, too.
