An IDF intelligence unit listened in on senior Syrian officials discussing a chemical attack that allegedly took place on the outskirts of Damascus and left hundreds of Syrian civilians dead last Wednesday, a major German publication reported.

What would Assad gain by killing 100 civilians with chemical weapons? It's ridiculous. The al quada terrorist are the ones who benefit from the chemical weapons attack on civilians. The recording of some people talking on open lines means absolutely nothing. This is a false flag attack To get America to save Al quadas ass. Assad has been beating them back for a while now.

My understanding from press reports was that the rebels were losing ground recently (maybe from having their supply lines dry up from Benghazi blowback). So why, at a time when Assad had the upper hand, would he resort to a weapon that was (a) not necessary, and (b) designed to gather the opprobrium of the world and marshall additional forces against him?

A trained dentist knows better.

I am still digging on this one, nothing I mean nothing is leaked by MASSAD agents unless it has a purpose. Nice way to get someone to eliminate the threat of the stockpiles. Then a quick cleanup of the rebel groups by a few Spec Ops groups and we have a safer world. Only problem is we are arming the bad guys.

Why didn’t they do it years ago? I am not buying this.

The more likely truth is that we are going in to clean up a big ugly mess made by Obama,Hillary and McCain...when they gave the stupid jihadis manpads!! I believe from other reporting that the Islamist AQ cells have some of the WMD stash. They are using it now. It is a huge threat now to everybody.....hence the coming together of world powers.

Nobody wants to tell the truth because it implicates outright treason on both sides of the aisle!

Which bad guys used WMD’s in Syria? Where are the stockpiles? And, how were they obtained?

Panetta: We’ve Lost Track of Syrian Chemical Weapons
FP ^

The U.S. has lost track of some of Syria’s chemical weapons, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Friday, and does not know if any potentially lethal chemicals have fallen into the hands of Syrian rebels or Iranian forces inside the country.

“There has been intelligence that there have been some moves that have taken place. Where exactly that’s taken place, we don’t know.” Panetta said, in a Pentagon press briefing.

December 11, 2012

The Obama administration Tuesday appeared to temper its recent assertions that the Syrian government may be preparing to use chemical weapons, with Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta telling reporters the relevant intelligence had “really kind of leveled off.”

“We haven’t seen anything new indicating any aggressive steps to move forward in that way,” Panetta told reporters during a flight to Kuwait, adding that U.S. officials “continue to monitor it very closely and we continue to make clear to them that they should not under any means make use of these chemical weapons against their own population. That would produce serious consequences.”

It was the first time Panetta confirmed that U.S. officials believe there have been multiple “limited” movements of the chemical weapons, but he said Syrian officials were relocating them in order to better secure them.

“There has been intelligence that there have been some moves that have taken place. Where exactly that’s taken place, we don’t know,” Panetta told reporters. “I don’t have any specific information about the opposition and whether or not they’ve obtained some of this or how much they’ve obtained and just exactly what’s taken place.”

Yes, and that is why MASSAD is supporting the narrative , they see the threat caused by the 3 stooges and will get something big in return by being complicit. We will have to watch how those peace talks workout in the future with BEBE holding a few aces in his pocket

Occam’s Razor

Israel is doing the bidding of the U.S. because they are being forced to. Not an accident that the administration is pushing the ‘peace process’ while trying to start two other wars. They are twisting their arms. Period.

The little trip by Mccain and Pansy Graham seems suspicious to me. Wasn't the last chemical attack in Syria a false flag operation carried out by the terrorist? I think it's necessary for us to question the motives of this regime after Benghazi, Egypt, fast and furious and other lies and misdeeds. They proved they can't be trusted to tell the truth about anything.

Heads up from Stratfor interesting meeting by Joint Chiefs chairman. Excerpt

To this end, on Monday Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey co-hosted an emergency meeting in Amman, Jordan, attended by the defense chiefs of Turkey, Jordan, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Though all countries could participate to some extent, the countries most relevant to a military response include Turkey, France, the United Kingdom and Jordan. Turkey, Jordan and the United Kingdom (from Cyprus) have the most bases to contribute to a Syria operation, and NATO members Turkey, the United Kingdom and France could play a potentially significant role in air and naval strikes. Given that Turkey and Jordan are particularly vulnerable to retaliation from Iran and Syria, the diplomacy surrounding their participation will be critical to watch in the coming days. The more serious the United States is about building a legitimate coalition for an attack, the longer preparations for an attack will take.

Notably, the White House has yet to define the mission of the impending operation. The United States can opt for a largely symbolic, limited strike that relies on stand-off weapons, such as Tomahawk cruise missiles. Such an operation could get the other coalition partners more involved. It would also be relatively brief. The problem is that it would invite retaliation, and it would still probably fail to eliminate the actual chemical weapons stockpiles, which are difficult and dangerous to strike from the air.

Otherwise, the United States could opt for a more systematic military campaign, which would involve air and naval strikes against command and control nodes, artillery sites, air bases and weapons facilities to severely degrade the regime’s military capabilities. Such an operation would run the risk of cracking the regime and the armed forces. In this scenario, the United States would have to consider a more comprehensive military campaign that would entail deploying ground forces to secure all weapons sites and prepare for the resultant power vacuum in Damascus that jihadists are bound to exploit. The United States would have to move more resources into theater if Washington decided to execute a comprehensive military strike

First thought: chatter.....so how many of the e-mails said
What the F..... Just happened?
Or
Who did that?

FR had quite a bit of chatter and speculation too. Don’t think that chatter in itself mean diddly squat!

How many in their and our government are clueless to what happened.
We may never know if the culprits died in the attack!

“Hey Mo look what I found. Lets set them off and see what happens!”
“First Lets just shoot a few rounds into them to see if anyone is around!
You shoot first and......boom sizzle boom!

Why don’t they just ask Assad to give up the chemical weapons and get Russia on board in a diplomatic effort? Sure sounds easier and less expensive...lol

I can’t believe no one has even asked the WH that question!!!

Truth is..the elite global powers don’t want that. They want Assad out and the chem weapons are a pretext..probably a manufactured one.

Never forget that the EU wants a pipeline run in Syria and that is what this is about. Russia does not,. The rest of this is a side show . The smart people don’t care that we end up with a theocracy in the process. As my dad use to say, you can’t make stupid people smart.

Time to stop the silliness on FR about this being the work of the rebels. I am no big supporter of the rebels but the Assad regime did this.

Is this just an assumption on your part, or do you have absolute solid evidence Assad did this?
