However, I am sure that I trust the Founders and the Founders trusted the electors.

I trust that the founders created the best system of governance that the world has ever seen. But trust modern day electors? Not so much.

It doesn't surprise me that you don't trust modern day electors as much as you trust the founders. What might surprise me is if you were to tell me that you trust the Supreme Court more than you trust the electors - that you'd rather have a majority of nine justices decide upon some precise definition for the NBC clause than to allow a majority of electors to apply the eligibility standards and select our presidents per the Constitution.

Boy, that's a much tougher argument. Look before you leap! ;-)
