Like everyone else, I too love a happy ending. However....there are too many details missing for me before I throw confetti. 1) Driver is in his car, counting his bucks, and I’m guessing since it’s midnite the dome light is on for all in the immediate vicinity to see what he is doing. That’s not smart. 2) Is the motor running? If so, why didn’t the driver just drive away? I have had my carry permit for quite a few years, and thank God I have not had to shoot anyone. A large part of my training is “situational awareness” whereby I win every gunfight I don’t get into. And when in my car, if I see something that tingles the spidey sense, I drive away and call it in. I’m not saying the victim didn’t have every right to defend himself against a knife wielding robber who threatened his life. I’m just saying there are too many unknowns for me to fire any “hooray” shots in the air. Perhaps the driver saved the innocent life that this mutt would have taken next week, only God knows. Lastly, from similar stories I’ve seen before Dominos will probably fire the driver. It forbids delivery people from carrying.
Looks like Starbucks boycott is a push.
I hope the delivery guy doesnt lose his job now...but at least hes alive to lose it

He will be fired for having the gun , Dominos has a policy that their drivers are unarmed ... the smart drivers always carry though.
That’s how I feel. I’ll never understand businesses making political statements. They wind up alienating so many customers.
As noted above by Leni, the the pizza guy is not a rocket scientist but give him credit for having a job. Surely he has learned from this experience and has rid my community of a real bad apple.
Just south of me.
Thats a rough area after dark.Doubt a room occupant and an I-95 quick on and off ramp get a way is a serious consideration and I guess the delivery guy was aware of that.
That’s likely why he carried a gun.
Sorry, that’s kind of a worthless gesture where I live. No matter what Starbuck’s believes, the Nazi Gestapo in the People’s Republic of Maryland knows better that my rights as a citizen are just not that important.
If the shooter was black there won’t be any problem regardless of the race of the dead person.
If the shooter was other than black the “perp” will become the “victim”, if the shooter was black the “perp” will still be the perp and his race, creed, sex, and national origin will be unimportant.
Freelance socialism has it’s dangers.
I’ve been following this story on the local 24 hour TV news channel. The only update to the original video of the sheriff’s dept statement is CFN13 edited out the description of the perp being black - that tells me the pizza guy is not black. Things are real touchy around here about news reports including racial descriptions of perps and vics since the Zimmerman trial as they are everywhere, I expect.
No description of the perp, ergo, must be one of Holder’s People!
“...from similar stories Ive seen before Dominos will probably fire the driver. It forbids delivery people from carrying.”
If thats’ true, Dominos drivers need to be quitting en-masse. The other thing I see is that if you live in South Florida, you need to be armed just to survive. That whole part of the state behaves like Chicago! I mean seldom a day goes by here on FR where you DON’T read about an armed situation where a citizen has to defend himself.
Well that’s another good reason to skip Starbucks, but the first and foremost reason to skip Starbucks is that their coffee sucks and is overpriced.
Would you like pepperoni on that chest wound?
Good for the driver!
Aw, c’mon. I’ll bet the pizza driver was stalking the poor perp. I sure hope the pizza guy isn’t a white hispanic; if so, he is toast.
Well said!!!
