'Illegal' for US military to deny Bradley Manning sex change (Yes, you read that right)

Transgender advocates said it should not be up to the US military to decide if Bradley Manning gets hormone therapy after the jailed US serviceman revealed he wanted a sex change.

A day after being sentenced for leaking classified material, Bradley Manning revealed that he was hoping to have a sex change.

In a written statement read on NBC News's 'Today' programme, Manning said he wants to start hormone therapy as soon as possible and asked supporters to refer to him by his new name, Chelsea, and to use the feminine pronoun.

But Manning's demands may set up another legal fight - the army said it does not provide hormone treatment or sex-reassignment surgery

Apart from all the other reasons he shouldn’t get a sex change, this amounts to elective surgery. When was the last time you heard of the Army paying for face lifts or breast implants for soldiers? This ought to be considered destruction of government property.

What all these procedures have in common with sex change, is that they deny that normal, natural form and function is the definition of health; so they deny that achieving normal, natural form and function is therefore the only legitimate goal of healthcare.

All of these procedures temporarily or permanently destroy sexuality as a naural, normal, healthy procreative power.

I'd be interested in whether any religious Jew or Chrisian wants to say that sex-change operations are prohibited by Sacred Scripture. If so, can you cite chapter and verse?

My own undersandsing is that they are not specifically prohibited by Scripure but are nevertheless forbidden by Divine and Natural Law.

Well, unfortunately, that's not entirely true. The turncoats infesting the ranks above Colonel were right there on board with the C-in-C, "Yes, sir ... yes, sir ... may I have another, sir ..." the whole way. If the Generals and Admirals had been looking out for the Services, there would have been mass resignations in the face of the directives from the political branches. But noooooooo --- not them. The High Command is just as responsible for the infestations within the enlisted ranks as are the politicals.
