OBAMA: REPUBLICANS 'PRIVATELY' TELL ME THEY'RE AFRAID OF LIMBAUGH, TEA PARTY
Big Journalism ^ | 8/23/2013

During President Obama's wide-ranging interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo Friday, the president responded to a question about the "lack of action in Washington" with the claim that when it comes to shutting down the government to kill ObamaCare, his "Republican friends" tell him "privately" that they agree with him but are afraid of Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Party:

Nobody thinks [a shutdown's] good for the middle class. So the question is ultimately, if you are putting the American people first, if you are prioritizing them, then this shouldn't be that difficult. And I've made this argument to my Republican friends privately, and, by the way, sometimes they say to me privately, "I agree with you, but I'm worried about a primary from, you know, somebody in the Tea Party back in my district," or, "I'm worried about what Rush Limbaugh is going to say about me on the radio. And so you got to understand, I'm -- it's really difficult."

Just ten days ago, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough said something remarkably similar during a "Morning Joe" discussion about same sex marriage -- that since 2006, "Republican leaders have said one thing in green rooms, another thing on TV and another thing on talk radio.”

Barry O excels at dividing and fracturing and this is another attempt.

I hope he’s telling the truth, for once. I hope there are Republicans who are afraid of Limbaugh and the Tea Party. And I hope that fear is preventing them from doing any more damage than they’ve already done.

Good. If they are not on board with our agenda they should be afraid.

Republicans don’t tell you anything, President Stage Name. You’re hearing voices.

No, it’s true.

They are afraid of not being needed.

It’s not like BO doesn’t need these guys. But it’s not like he won’t dump them like a sleazy girlfriend ( I know, he probably never had one) as soon as they’re not needed

They’re on their way to obscurity. And history will be as kind to Boehner as it has been to Nev Chamberlain

It’s like a high school scene and the socially unaware are in charge. They never learn that giving lunch money to the bully only breeds contempt from all sides

Clinton did it with the Mideast and look where that got us (9/11)

Well DUH! All one has to do is listen/watch to McCain & Co to know that.

As for being the GOP being afraid” of Rush?
GOP-e = Pot
Obama = kettle
Pot meet kettle.

I'm more certain they are afraid of YOU and your NSA and IRS spies. I don't think Rush has those resources.

“I say just plain bunk to this”

I’m quite sure it’s true. We didn’t realize it at the time, but the GOP was more frightened than the Democrats by the 2010 elections.

“...He looks and sounds deranged.”

He’s not bluffing either Mark. I think he has been “deranged” for sometime.

Why oh why can’t the low information voters see that? (Guess it’s the free cell phones)

I’m sorry, but I don’t think Republicans privately tell the Dictator anything. If he does “know” the NSA probably leaked some private e-mails and phone calls.

Of course Boehner and McCain are afraid of the tea party and Limbaugh, just as they are all other grassroots conservatives movements.

They are eroding the power of the political class and the GOPe.

DUH!

I agree with you. It is good.

It’s the politicians in GOP that fear ie respect Rush. The voters do not fear him. We agree with him, and he agrees with us.

I bet McCain told O that he feared Rush. Ha

It’s time to impeach this lowlife. I knew it was a bad idea to put a Marxist, America hater in the White House.
