GRACE – Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment.
This is a Christian organization who has two of Billy Graham’s grandsons on the board, devoted to protecting people who have been sexually abused in the church. (They have served many years as prosecuting attorneys and have seen it all) I read through the blog posts there and they are GOLD… they REALLY DO understand and are just as mystified and angry at the tendency of people to protect the abuser!!
Frankly, since that ELCA church posted bail, essentially they are siding with sex abuse, and heaping more abuse on the victim and any unknown victims in their midst. But hey, they put up with homosexuals in the pulpit (voted it OK officially a few years ago) and abortionists in the congregations, so, why not sex abusers and child abusers?
And it could be that the guy is a member at that church, we don’t know. I know when it happened locally, no news stories mentioned the school staff member’s church/youth group contacts. So I bet it is going on there too.
