Every once in a while you read something that truly shakes your faith in humanity. This would be one of those stories.
Christopher Lane was a 22-year-old baseball player for East Central University in Oklahoma. Friday, he was killed in a completely random act, according to police. Three boys, ages 15, 16 and 17 are in police custody for the slaying.
From the Associated Press:
"They saw Christopher go by, and one of them said: 'There's our target,'" [Duncan police chief Danny] Ford said. "The boy who has talked to us said: 'We were bored and didn't have anything to do, so we decided to kill somebody.'""They followed him in the car to that area, shot him in the back and drove off," Ford said.
Ford also noted that the boys said they killed Lane for "the fun of it."

Nope, second generation LBJ legacy.
Who gets to decide where your tidy little list end?
Google Leopold and Loeb.
Another thing we could get rid of with no harm or damage to what little there might be of culture left in the US would be Twitter. If you can’t express thoughts in more than 140 bytes, you probably shouldn’t be allowed near the Internet...
Heh, well I can agree with that. I’ve never tweeted and I don’t read tweets unless by accident.
I’d like to add another item to the police state solution.
Stupid phones, oh and while I’m at it, stupid cars, and by stupid I mean the ones that are called “smart”, and yeah there are some guys too.
I love watching people out to eat and they are all sitting at the table on their phones ignoring the people they are with. If I was at such a table, I’d just get up and leave without saying a single word.
I am really sick of seeing women with their faces jammed into their stupid phone, yes women, they seem hopelessly addicted to their little electronic leashes, and it makes me lose respect.
And the cars...yes I only see about one every two months, but that’s one too many. I’d like to take a spray can and spray paint stupid all over every one of these “cars”.
