Cruz has done a 180, so it’s not mere ignorance he changed his tune. I am totally sickened by his support of the MB. WTH????
Two paragraphs of the July 3 article are below, the whole article is worth reading. He’s done a 180. Threats? Bribes? I do not get it!!!!!!

Why does President Barack Obama persist in supporting Mohamed Morsy and not the protesters?
BY TED CRUZ | JULY 3, 2013
On Sunday, June 30, millions of Egyptians turned out to protest President Mohamed Morsy and his Muslim Brotherhood-dominated regime. Fed up with his disastrous economic mismanagement and systematic disregard for constitutional freedoms, the Egyptian people took to the streets to demand his resignation. “Leave! Leave!” they chanted in what may have been the largest demonstration in the history of the Middle East — if not the world.
In what has to be one of the most stunning diplomatic failures in recent memory, the United States is — in both perception and reality — entrenched as the partner of a repressive, Islamist regime and the enemy of the secular, pro-democracy opposition.
[Hat tip to maggief for posting that on the Live Egypt thread this morning.]

I do not see his statement as ‘supporting’ the MB. It is not time to go that far in sorting out his statements IMHO. I have read both articles and it appears to me, that while his stance is conflicting, it is not supporting the MB at all.
There are elements in the Egyptian military that probably concern some right now. That is all I can figure.
Our politicos in government are shortsighted and are being Dumb.
The efforts here of the Muslim Brotherhood again trying to take direct power in Egypt will fail.
If the United States continue in their course of actions and words could very well push the Egyptians towards China and Russia.
In the end, the U.S. will lose out in power and ‘sphere of influence’ with Egypt that has consequence as a whole for the Middle East.
