I read that too just now. Our rino politicians (and some conservatives falling for the game) are backing themselves into a corner, while Obama just sits back in Martha’s Vineyard, letting them hang themselves for his actions. It is truly remarkable.

This was the wrong time to make this statement and he is being utterly stupid. Hopefully he will update his website with an updated, corrected position that DOES NOT empower the Muslim Brotherhood like he is doing now.

Like Newt Gingrich’s recent awakening, I’m not sure that promoting democracy in all regions of the world is in our interests. The best way to promote something to others is to live life with values that the rest of the world wants for themselves.

Democracy as a form of government is one of the worst forms of government. The Founders knew well from the history of western civilization that democracy fails and ends in tyranny because a totalitarian government is viewed erroneously as capable of rectifying errors generated by democratic societies.

In simpleton terms, democracy is pictured as two wolves and a chicken discussing what’s for dinner. Tyranny occurs when the wolf that kills the chicken for its food won’t share with the other wolf. Fortunately, for our America, the chicken has a gun, at least for now.

The US is a republic meaning it is governed by rule of law but it elections are democratic and it’s ruling components are democratic but limited.

So I would not be with Cruz on some notion of speeding up democratic reforms.

If Obama was to do to America what Morsi did to Egypt, I would support his removal from our government and after things were settled and Obama was removed I would support an Article V effort to propose amendments to the Constitution for the purpose of preventing an Obama-like totalitarian coup for future generations.

It really boils down to what side we choose to be on and unfortunately everyone must choose.

In Egypt, if I was in Egypt, I would side with traditionalists there and not those that push for Sharia.

In America, I would side with traditionalists and not those that have been pushing Socialism and Homosexuality.

Perhaps Cruz would have done better by stating that American humanitarian aid should be sent to Egypt under conditions that would ensure with high probability that the aid would reach its intended recipients.

Pft..lol. I think the answer you are looking for may be over your level of thinking.

I was trying to be nice, by answering you. I suspect your drama may be why “conservatives” as you put it, don’t respond. Drama is for liberals.

I did answer the question- you just don’t like the answer.
Are you sure you are not a liberal.
;)

lol

I’m not sure that promoting democracy in all regions of the world is in our interests.

You have Barry Goldwater in your corner.

Fifty years ago, the UN and the American Foreign Policy Community had an absolute mania for decolonizing Africa and other parts of the world. Goldwater called this a fool's errand. He pointed out that some people aren't ready for democracy, and for cultural and religious reasons, they may never be ready. He saw that the mania for democratization would only create a playground for the CIA and KGB. He argued for a hard-nosed approach where it might be best for a nation to be ruled by a benevolent dictator, one preferably loyal to the US, not the Soviet Union.

He was excoriated by the Mainstream Media for this "wrong-headed thinking" and "unprogressive" approach. But history proved him right. Islam will have to go through something like the Enlightenment before it can support democracy.

Cruz throws Egypt under the Rand Paul bus. I'm sure the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda are grateful.

Obama represents they United States in the minds of many and is seen as a patron of the MB. I think there is some hostility out there.

I hope that in the end more people will see things the way you refer to.

The United States is too focused on maintaining “order” in the world, hence this fudging about the coup that occurred last month.

That was not a geopolitically mature response.

The Muslim Brotherhood is not our friend and only sees the democratic process as a means to secure unassailable power in the most expedient manner without loss of their resources prior to creating a Islamist state, instituting Sharia law, and eliminating their political competition.

Egypt declares the MB a TERRORIST ORGANIZATION!

That means their organized structure and financing is illegal and they will never run again for office!

This puts 0b0z0 and his allies, Euros and RINOs, can’t support a terrorist organization per the documented atrocities perpetrated so far. It is important for CHRISTIAN COUNTRIES who support them to find a “good” way to support decapitating priests, killing and maiming Christians and above all, burning 22 churches in 24 hours, pretty efficient terrorism if I might add!

It’s your move, you lousy gutless supporters of terrorism. You’ll never be able to resuscitate the Ikhwan movement, ever, unless of course, we want them, let them thrive in our countries, fatten our necks and hand them sharp or dull knives, their choice.

Some other news:

- MB spies found in the ministry of interior. They reported the info to MB as to strength of police in targeted ones. You can imagine what other info about intended arrests, police raids, etc. clean up in aisle #1, the interior ministry!

- the police arrested many, a roomful that I saw, say 30-40 or more of foreign fighters. Euro looking oldies, Pakistanis, Afghanis, Syrians, Palestinians, etc. many didn’t speak Arabic or spoke it with Arab (NON-EGYPTIAN) accent!

Money bring in the riff raff! I suggest a non-Egyptian immediate accommodation of martyrdom as they must have wished. They changed the Egyptian nature of being the oldest civilization in the world, at least for a while, to deal sternly with the Mongol hordes that arrived on Egyptian n shores, ILLEGALLY, to shoot peaceful Egyptians.

Parade them in front of the world and ask the media to speak Arabic to them, maybe the light bulb will go on!

A Schizophrenic Elephant

The Republican Party’s biggest problem is mental illness. The big elephant party is suffering from a severe case of split personality disorder. It’s an old problem that has only gotten worse over the years.

It can be hard to remember sometimes while swimming in the media bubble that depicts the
Republican Party as some offshoot of the John Birch Society, the KKK and the Confederacy, that it’s the exact opposite. All of the organizations mentioned got their start opposing the Republican Party. The Republican Party might have been considered radical before the Civil War, but by the time it was over, it had become the ultimate big government party. It was the oversized elephant tying together big government and big industry.

He does seem to be changing. He also praised Obama for his handling of Syria. Granted it was limited praise, but it wasn’t necessary to praise Obama on Syria.
