They may try to come here illegally, and some will succeed. But that doesn’t mean we have to allow them access to public services or employment, and it definitely doesn’t mean we have to ever grant them legal status and citizenship.

As long as there is hunger and poverty, we'll also have theft, robbery, and gang activity as well. All of these things are in a sense understandable, but there's no talk of rewarding those responsible for them with amnesty.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
