Robert Griffin III thinks the time is now for gay players to come out.
The Redskins star quarterback told GQ magazine that he feels the "window is now" for gay players.
"I think there are [gay players] right now, and if they're looking for a window to just come out, I mean, now is the window," said Griffin, who is recovering from offseason knee surgery. "My view on it is, yes, I am a Christian, but to each his own. You do what you want to do. If some Christians want to look at being gay as a sin, then thinking about other women, committing adulteryor any of those other sins that are in the Biblethose are sins, too. And God looks at all of us the same way."

"When I meet a gay person, I have to distinguish between their being gay and being part of a lobby. If they accept the Lord and have goodwill, who am I to judge them? They shouldn't be marginalized. The tendency [to homosexuality] is not the problem ... they're our brothers."--Pope Francis
What on earth is going on here, Rash and Soflo?
I like Rasputin’s tag by the way. It’s in the right spirit. The truth is even better, that He will carry those who are His towards the victory even when the battle has reduced them to apparent near nothingness. Nobody can snatch them out of His hand.
Anyhow, let’s not get so much at one another’s throats here that we can’t even breathe the Holy Spirit!!
We’re stuck in a mediocre position here for the most part in American Christianity. A. W. Tozer was one who lamented that, and addressed it as best he could. We ought to see folks going “Praise the Lord” with obvious sincerity for how they were pulled by grace out of various sins and bolstered to resist them robustly by the new righteousness of Christ. Instead we have polite church services that emphasize what you CAN’T do more than what you CAN do. God has to be shaking His head in disappointment.
:LUCIFER, the Light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of Darkness! Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! Is it he who bears the Light Doubt it not!"
I am not ‘selling’ anything. I am merely pointing out that this is not news and is uninteresting. RGIII is not my pastor and I do not take theological direction from him....or you for that matter. RGIII is neither hero nor role model. You can change the arguments all you want you still are clueless
Do you have to get so immediately cynical.
Cynicality is a sign of being in darkness, not in light. Be a bit patient here. It’s possible to hate the darkness so bad (and the imitation light of the devil is darkness) that you won’t even see divine light.
Trace the genuine light by looking for its effects, the genuine glorification of the Lord. Even if the effects are small.
Your mind will be opened. Victory is obtained through glorification of the Lord.
I mean, it’s possible to be so zealous for something that was intended to be a vessel of divine glory that you forget about the need for the divine glory in it!
Oh yeah. I am blinded by the brilliance of their purity ;)
Rom 1:24-26
25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator who is forever praised. Amen.26 Because of this, God gave them over..."
NIV
At this juncture, we can see the baby as well as the bathwater. “The truth of God.”
Now the bible tells us that in Jesus every promise is yes.
Because some do a job poorly does not entitle you to blaspheme the whole thing from stem to stern. That is solving a low-light problem by obscuring all light from it.
>>I am not selling anything.
Uhuh - and professional athletes whose behavior is naturally emulated by those whose undue influence they are inflicted upon aren’t [negative] Role Models in the Niftard Newspeak Dictionary, either.
NO SALE
You fail, too. Should that result in a big ole “FAIL” emblazoned on YOUR forehead? Not if you’ve accepted the salvation of Christ.
Paul even rejoiced that the gospel was being preached for profit because it was being preached. Would you go to Paul and tell him, “FAIL”?
Well, speak for yourself.
Sorry boss -- Putting lipstick on that pig and sporting beer goggles on this case ain't gonna work.
I am sad at all the cynicality here.
A low light problem is addressed, indeed not by accepting it, but by furnishing more light.
Many here are busily furnishing more darkness. “Who is this who obscures My counsel?”
In Jesus every promise is yes. The DO’s crowd out the things that are flagged as DON’Ts. The DON’T acts become impossible because the DO acts leave no room for them.
In fact I look at your very tag line. It begins to trace the truth. It’s when we say no to goodness that evil results.
>>Not if youve accepted the salvation of Christ.
By encouraging others to unrepentantly live in open abomination of nature?
Your gospel sounds more like “Praise be he who permits the forbidden” than GO AND SIN NO MORE.
I can accept that, brutha.
Amen!
