My siblings and I made sure we understood what his service meant so a big thank you.

Sadly, he is no longer with us but I keep his picture next to my computer.

I asked him when I was little why he volunteered for WWII? He said, “So I wouldn’t have to”.

My regret is that we had millions of these heroes fighting for freedom and then a punk, low intelligent wannabe thug is elected president. What happened to all the real men?

My father also served during WWII, but didn’t make a career of it. I’m glad my Dad didn’t live to see the likes of Obama or even Carter, for that matter. Like you opined, ‘what has happened to all the real men?’

Well, many good men have replaced them, but too many slugs have also replaced them.

Keep praying and may God always bless and keep you and your precious family.
