Nope. You have to pull the battery.

This is the reason why you can't remove the battery on the newer phones.

Indeed. I got an HTC One and can’t take it out. Bad enough that it means the phone has a built-in lifespan of less than 2 practical years until it starts to wear out, but also because of crap like this. Not that I’d probably bother to pull my battery out anyway.

I’m going to guess they aren’t collecting all phones constantly to transcribe (yet) because of bandwidth. But sooner or later they certainly will. Either transmit it real time or have a Trojan in it doing it for them and sending just the text and your gps location/billing info.
