Using NSA logic, record everything all the time, just in case they are looking for a terrorist or something.

Hey, why not? If they CAN, who is to say they shouldn’t?

Certainly not our elected and appointed officials, that much is clear by now

Like they’ve basically admitted, there is no technical barrier to them following you online, on phone, by mail, or anywhere. It’s all ‘legal’. It was legal for the Stasi to do whatever, so at this point since they’ve gone through the cost and time to build up the system it will be used.

The only thing keeping them in check is the political whims of the law. As we know, they’ll lie about anything and force your ISP or google or anyone to lie to their customers as well under duress. That sounds, to me, like a form of terrorism. ‘Are you an agent?’ ‘What’s your name?’

I watched the German movie The Lives of Others on youtube, it’s very depressing and it’s basically what’s going on now here.

yes, they will gather all information... targeting no one in particular... and thereby be legal. just like scanning license plates on the roads

the interesting tidbit will come later.

once they have the massive datastore in utah being filled with decades of live data... there will come a day when it is common practice for a warrant to be issued to pull all the data associated with a defendant and submitted into evidence.

your life in review...
your fate in the balance...
your life at the mercy of your overlords

what could possibly go wrong
