As a side note:
I get so sick of hearing “the Downer”, I hear it a lot when I’m debating with people in person. It seems to be a way of dismissing the conversation and changing the subject to something besides politics.
Also, I have long noticed that when debating in person against liberals whenever you win a point they will counter with the “they all do it” meme. When they say that one you know you’ve convinced them of your point but they want to dismiss it as something that is excusable because they want you to think that your side does it too. That it’s the norm, which is rarely actually true.
Debating liberals is truly casting pearls of wisdom before swine. It’s hopeless because you can never stipulate the truth of anything. They are dealing with their own set of ‘made up’, delusional facts and you can show them on paper where what you are saying is true and they will still deny them. They’re hopelessly brainwashed.
So true! As the old saying goes, “Never try to teach a pig to sing – it wastes your time and annoys the pig.”
