Shoots through up to 20 heads at a time!
Yep... Blackpowder beastie... There’s a muzzleloading pistol version too. Makes my wrists ache just thinkin’ about it.

Old Firearms like that made before a certain date are classified as curio and relics, so the bore size limitation may not apply.
This muzzle energy figure is off by a factor of 10.
for a 2,500 grain bullet going 2,100 fps I come up with 24,475fpe.
Still a whole bunch in anybody’s book.
Hot Damn! Get one with a mount for my mini-van. Betcha when WE go through the drive through our order comes out PERFECT.
” ... it will certainly kill the shooter.”
Like the atomic hand grenade, I’m sure the Army would require that the GI version spit a commendation medal out the receiver to reward anyone brave enough to pull the trigger.
“Im sure its already illegal in California, New York, Massachussetts, and etc. because someone might use it as a concealed weapon.”
It’s already illegal everywhere without a specific federal license. The 1968 Federal Firearms Act stipulates that no weapon can have a bullet with a diameter larger than 0.500”. Anything larger is classified as a “Destructive Device” and is banned for use by the average citizen.
I have shot the TC Contender in .375, what a H00T!
It is a serious gun LOL
Looks to me like a good place for a lead sled.
I have yet to figure out what that rat chaser is good for.
Exactly.
And they’ve been around a good deal longer, too.
A H&H Four-bore rifle has some real charm to it. Don’t want to shoot it, but it looks nice.
“The recoil has to be STUPENDOUS. Like throwing a block with your shoulder into a Mack truck head-on....”
Does the rifle have a recoil spring like the M16? That would help with the recoil.
It prolly has a bit more kick than my T/C .375 Winchester...
For the truly bizarre among us, this thing has a Taylor KOV of 678.75.
The .460 Weatherby is 88.7 by comparison.
Technically, the 16-inch guns on our old battleships are classified as “naval rifles”. I think they’re bigger than that.
A 50 BMG is legal and has a diameter of 0.510". Also, a 505 Gibbs or .577 or .600 Nitro Express beat that diameter easily.
“Kind of cool but I think you need a Class 3 license to buy one.
NFA has a limit of 50cal”
Unless they are particularily suitable for “sporting” purposes, which means the BATFE bureaucrats get to decide on a case by case basis.
I think the big double rifles in .600 and .700 nitro were ruled as exceptions.
You never know when you are going to have only one cartridge as still want to take out a herd of elephants moving in-column.
That is why I pinged you.
I knew you would know.
What do you call the liquid mercury in a tube that you can put into a rifle stock to reduce the recoil? I cannot think of the name. I’m guessing a pound of mercury would calm this bad boy down where it wouldn’t kick much.
