If he lives in Florida, can he legally carry a weapon in his car in Texas? I was under the impression you can’t transport weapons across state lines without a specific permit for the state you are in. Is this story BS?

Who says he lives in Florida?

And who says where this particular gun came from?

In a state that has concealed carry, too, wouldn’t they choose to recognize your permit from another conceal carry state?

If you have a concealed carry permit (which George does)Then many other states recognize it and honor it.
Texas and Florida recognize each others CCW permits.

Anyone but a felon can carry a weapon in their car in Texas. Permits are for sissy states.

Texas redefined the “Castle Doctrine” in 2008 to include your car. Perry signed the law in 2011, I believe, to allow people the right to have their handgun secured in their vehicle at work.

It makes practical sense to allow people access to their weapon when they are most likely to need it.

I don't know, but your knowledge of gun laws needs some work.

There are a lot more laws to pay attention to than just one... but a FL concealed carry license is valid in TX. However you don’t need ANY permit to carry a gun in a glove compartment in FL.

The states with reciprocity don’t have to worry about the permits. If one has a CCW in Florida one can carry it to GA, Alabama, Ms, Louisiana, and Texas without a problem. NY, Mass, Illinois, and NJ are anal about transportation of a weapon between the states.
