Having surfed Alexa's list of the top 100 conservative websites over the past few weeks, I am all the more proud to be a member of the 300 Club, donating $100 a quarter to what is so evidently the best conservative site on the web. Nothing comes close.
There are certainly other good conservative sites out there, but there is nothing that comes close to the ease with which conservatives around the nation (world?) can interact on Free Republic. FR’s discussion software simply blows anything else away. It isn't even close.
The other thing that stands out for me is FR’s huge lead in enabling conservatives to connect and promote a conservative agenda in their areas or in other coordinated ways.
News? Free Republic is on top of the news before the major media outlets in many cases, and almost always has breaking news up within minutes. Commentary? No site holds the talking heads to account, dissects their ideas, and tosses out the bad and keeps the good in the way that Free Republic does. Rush Limbaugh has focused lately on “low information” voters. That would never be the case with a Freeper. Freepers can only be characterized as the exact opposite — High Information patriots.
Finally, Free Republic is alone in its insistence that faith issues be equally represented in conservative thinking. FR’s “Religion Forum” is unique, a blessing, a source of strength, and an opportunity to pray. No other site has anything remotely in second place.
So, let me repeat. I am proud to donate to Free Republic. I'm proud because I know Free Republic promotes real conservatism: God, Life, small government, fiscal responsibility, strong defense, and strong America.
I encourage everyone who uses Free Republic to donate, and then to consider becoming a 300 Club member. There is no better conservative site advocating conservative principles and providing a launching pad for conservative action.
Well said. I am also a 100 per quarter donor, for the reasons you stated so eloquently. I shudder at the thought of no FR in the morning.
Applause!
