Who are ANY of us to judge? Change the word "gay" to any other sin and you have one of the core foundations of Christianity.
"If someone is a sinner and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?"
So far I'm OK with this Pope despite the media's attempts to stir up dissent among the Faithful.
God will judge them!
“Homosexuals tithe, too!”
That’s what I heard.
Some freepers will defend this guy for as long as he continues to utter social liberalism and platitudes
He’s not comparable to the previous two
Maybe not even to....what was it....Paul....prior to John Paul
Even as a non Catholic I realize the importance of popes....and it helps all of us when they are obedient to their instructions
But this one is way funky.....he says something over ecumenical or non traditional reach out weekly.....what is his order.....Mary Knoll?
At least he’s 76...not 55
How is this thread considered Breaking News?
All people have one or many weaknesses that cause them to sin. It is not a sin for a married person to find another person attractive, but it is a sin to act on that attraction. Very simple.
He simply meant that only God kudges at the time of judgment but with the culture poised for acceptance of hpmosexual acts as normal and healthy it will be like fire and it will go off context
This statement is goito be something he regrets i imagine just for the cultural climate
Always go right to either EWTN, national Catholic Register ( not ... Reporter) for papal clarity and vatican reports
Good for you...very perceptive.

Auto-Translation:
There is so much being written about the gay lobby. I havent met anyone in the Vatican yet who has gay written on their identity cards. There is a distinction between being gay, being this way inclined and lobbying. Lobbies are not good. If a gay person is in eager search of God, who am I to judge them? The Catholic Church teaches that gay people should not be discriminated against; they should be made to feel welcome. Being gay is not the problem, lobbying is the problem and this goes for any type of lobby, business lobbies, political lobbies and Masonic lobbies.

I’m no Pope supporter, but I don’t think any “Christian” can judge Sodomites outside of what the Word of God says, which is explicit in its condemnation. So, we don’t judge Sodomites, the Word of God has already judged them.
I’m not Catholic, but I think it would be good advice for the Pope to quit using the Alinsky term ‘gay’...they should be referred to as homosexuals or sodomites. Not gay.
as pope, it doesn’t matter what he “meant.” it’s becoming clearer each day that we Chistians will have little help from this pope in our battle “against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
i hope and pray that the man wakes up and begins to think before he speaks.
I know what he SAID. Is THAT sufficient?
"If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?" Francis asked.
He does NOT have to 'judge' at all; but he SURELY could REPEAT what the LORD has said!!!
Genesis 13:13
However, society expects controls around men being in charge of girls to protect the girls. This is usually another person to vouch for ever-present proper behavior.
For anyone in a homosexual or heterosexual relationship outside of marriage—this cannot be condoned. Also, those in such positions should not be in positions of authority in Church.
I do hope this is clarified. As a Protestant who has given Catholic positions more than a little harassment, I would dread a “coming out” by the whole Catholic faith. Practicing Protestants and Catholics alike want leadership to hold to Godly standards.
I’m finding myself torn in conscience with what the Pope comments. I am not of the Catholic world and this probably contributes to my quandary. I believe that God by Jesus Christ recognized/acknowledged that there is righteousness and evil. I also believe that in the judgement of God one cannot ‘sugarcoat’ evil as if such can be part of ones personal character. With this said I think the Pope is certainly a peoples need.
Say Goodby to the Catholic church. The pope is a homo
sympathizer if not a homo himself.
“gay clergymen should be forgiven and their sins forgotten.”
In other words, they can continue to practice their
predatory pedophile homosexuality with his blessing.
Pope Francis, a child’s worst enemy. Time to pull the kids
out of Catholic schools, they are definitely not safe there
anymore now that Francis the fondler is in charge.
Peoples. He is saying that humans have sexual orientations. Probably every human. S he is saying that once they have devoted themselves to priestly service, and give up all sex, what difference does it make if they have straight or gay orientations? It’s like owning a computer with no electricity or batteries.
If FR had a gymnastics sidebar, this would be its flagship thread .. lol
The Apostle Paul says to Christians:
1 Corinthians 6:3 RSV Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, matters pertaining to this life!
