Bingham means that to be a natural born Citizen...........your parents can’t owe allegiance to any foreign sovereignty. That means that Ted Cruz’s father Rafael negates Ted Cruz from being a true Constitutional Article 2 Section 1 natural born Citizen since he owed allegiance to Cuba at Ted’s birth in Canada, another foreign sovereignty.

You will have trouble even getting the other birhers to back you up on that one.
The quote you give, from Bingham, has very little to do with the Cruz situation.
It ONLY applies to those born on US soil, and the “allegiance” wording is intended to exclude foreign diplomats and foreign Heads of State.

This is a rather important point that seems to flow by a number of people here. They seem to understand that a child born to an American father overseas is an American citizen, but conveniently ignore the fact that a child born to a foreign father (whether in the US or some other country) is also a citizen of their father’s country and ALSO subject to that country’s jurisdiction.

It will be interesting to see if Ted Cruz formally renounced his Cuban and Canadian citizenships when he reached the age of majority.
