CNN’s Don Lemon Backs Up Bill O’Reilly: ‘He Doesn’t Go Far Enough’ In Criticizing Black Culture

Bill O’Reilly’s remarks on race last week drew heavy criticism from Chris Hayes, Bill Maher, Al Sharpton, Larry Wilmore, and more, but one unlikely person is agreeing with him: CNN host Don Lemon.

Lemon addressed the wounds inflicted by black males onto their community on his “No Talking Points” segment Saturday afternoon, saying he was able to bring this up now that the George Zimmerman trial had concluded. Before the verdict, right wing media had consistently asked why the “liberal media” was fixating on Trayvon Martin while ignoring rampant black-on-black violence, a “deflection,” in Lemon’s words, from the injustices of the Martin shooting. But now that Zimmerman had been acquitted, it was time “for some tough love on the subject.”

Lemon played a clip of O’Reilly stating, “The reason there is so much violence and chaos in the black precincts is the disintegration of the African American family…Raised without much structure, young black men often reject education and gravitate towards the street culture, drugs, hustling, gangs. Nobody forces them to do that. Again, it is a personal decision.”

“Bill’s got a point,” Lemon said. “In fact, he’s got more than a point…In my estimation, he doesn’t go far enough.”

Lemon then listed five essential reforms black men need to make in their lives in order to improve themselves and their communities: hike up their pants, remove the n-word from their vocabulary, take care of their communities, finish high school, and lower the rate of children born out of wedlock.

“More than 72% of children in the African Americans are born out of wedlock,” Lemon said. “Studies show that lack of a male role model is an express train right to prison, and the cycle continues.”....

"nut job"

He might be a liberal nut job, but for decades nut jobs like him refused to admit any white conservative could be right about anything concerning black lives. For someone like Lemon to admit a white conservative is right about the cause of black societal problems is nothing less than remarkable. I would have guessed, given his past record, he would have excoriated O'Reilly for being a typical white racist and told him to shut up. So I'll give Lemon a little credit for having the guts to buck the race-hustlers.

It seems a lot of people are deep in denial. Which sort of explains some things

When/if those people in denial wake up, there's going to be a war.

You know, the naive politicians and judges who worked from 1808-1861 to prevent the war were CORRECT about how bad it would be, more correct than the abolitionists and fire-eaters who craved it.

This next one is going to be bad, too - maybe worse. The people in denial just don't know what to do, and neither do I. I envy them their denial.

No, it’s not that. It’s just so many people were writing stuff along the lines of (really paraphrasing here you understand): there really isn’t a problem of illegitimacy in the black community because a few loose women throw off the stats; if you think there’s a problem in the black community you’re clearly not black and you lack understanding; the author of the original piece is gay (don’t know if that’s true or if they’re just slurring him); any problems with gun violence in the black community are more than outweighed by those of crazy white people who shoot up crowds of people/school children.

And so on.

Now I always thought that people in the black community were just unable to improve things, that they were overwhelmed and that the pot-stirring by Sharpton, Jackson, Obama, Holder and the overwhelmingly white MSM were done to distract them from what they well know are the real problems.

After reading those comments I’m not so sure.

Of course I have no idea if the commenters are black or white, perhaps it could be discerned about some but I didn’t delve that far into it.

Maybe people in the black community really DO think everything is fine, that George Zimmerman and other “whites” are their main problem; and that anything else could be solved by more government involvement in their lives, except of course by any member of the criminal justice arm of the gov’t.

If so I feel very sorry for them; because they don’t have a freaking clue.

This is temporary. Lemon is a left wing nut job.

Look, conservatives made people on the left talk about black issues in a new and realistic way - that's a victory in itself. Even if Lemon reverts to a typical democrat brainless shill - he's gotten our message out.

He is right, but has things backwards. The *single*, proximate cause of the vast majority of problems that the black community suffers from is “Sex outside of Marriage.”

Now let me parse that in an unexpected way.

When I say “the black community”, I mean *exclusively* those American blacks descended from slaves. *Not* African immigrants, who are inappropriately lumped together with the s-d blacks.

Why? Because African immigrants DO NOT have this cultural baggage. They strongly believe in monogamous marriage and the family. And they shun s-d blacks because they can *objectively* see their horrific self destruction and cultural cancer.

So literally “race is not an issue, here”, AT ALL.

The issue is “Sex outside of Marriage”. This causes the ridiculously high illegitimacy rate of 72%. And that, in turn, creates children who are 60% more likely to criminally offend.

Children with single parents are raised in a survival mode, not a success mode. So the city is like a jungle, and the other people would either make you prey, or are your prey.

Because it is hard to go it alone, such young people group together in packs, like hyenas, and become territorial.

Their lives are driven by impulse, not thought or planning, and certainly without any long term goals. And so they live by the sword and die by the sword.

In the grand scheme of things it is not really their fault, but the fault of their parents, who could not contain their lusts and were encouraged not to do so with the idea that it harms no one and gives great pleasure.

Guess what? It did and does cause great harm. It ruins lives, and multiplies misery and suffering over generations.

If Martin Luther King lived today, the single most important thing he could do would be to persuade black Americans to shun sex outside of marriage as if their lives depended on it.

And their disaster should be fair warning for the rest of us.

29% of white children, and 53% of Latinos are born to unmarried women. It is almost to the point where public aid for unmarried parents should be forbidden as encouraging child abuse.

This may be the first time I’ve agreed with Mr. Lemon. He should have a panel of Bill Cosby, Charles Barkley and Shelby Steele on his show, talking about this issue the abuse they’ve taken from the race industry.

When Øbama was first elected I was literally sick to my stomach. But I thought that at least he'll be the one (yes, The One) to finally get "black america" back on track. Boy, was I wrong.

Same here.

I often wondered what would have happened if King had started a revival instead of a rights movement.

If someone from the Repubican party had the cajones, they should come forward and start explaining who Margeret Sanger was and why she talked about putting the abortion clinics in black areas.

Occasional lapses of honesty do not vindicate CNN’s campaign of propaganda. Wolf Blitzer and the fat broad need to be canned, for starters.

But there is blame being attributed to whites for high black-on-black crime - Some people are trying to claim that anger over white racism causes blacks to lash out at other blacks. (No, I can’t make sense of it.)

Thanks for reminding us older Freepers, and teaching the younger ones who haven’t be taught.

It was LBJ.

He was faced with a choice, continue the space program and build space stations, explore the moon, travel to Mars etc., OR destroy the Black family.

He couldn’t do both, family ties are as strong as atomic force fields, and it would take trillions to break those ties.

For an evil man it was a no brainer.

Everything has its time.

For example, before about the 1940s, black preachers in the South made a name for themselves by creating sermons that described a dark and hot Hell that awaited sinners. It was said that some were so gifted in this that congregations “could feel the flames licking the underside of the floor boards, and smell the brimstone through the cracks.” Heavenly descriptions, added almost after the fact, just served as a peaceful contrast of rest and happiness.

Importantly, this reached their congregations and gave them what they wanted, and caused many to mend their ways and resist temptation.

However, by the time of MLK, this way of thinking had pretty much collapsed. With the return of the soldiers from WWII, segregation in most of the US quickly and quietly collapsed.

At the time, many small towns across the Bible belt were ruled by cliques of various Protestant sects that pressured others to maintain the social order, which included segregation and social behavior. The veterans rejected this outright, as well, and refused to cooperate with a dictatorship of gossips.

A lot of social pressure suddenly got released in a hurry, and MLK was a the forefront of one part of it. He had evolved into a religious skeptic and rejected parts of the Bible in their entirety; but he saw within it the justification for social reform.

“King was originally skeptical of many of Christianity’s claims. At the age of thirteen, he denied the bodily resurrection of Jesus during Sunday school. From this point, he stated, “doubts began to spring forth unrelentingly”. However, he later concluded that the Bible has “many profound truths which one cannot escape” and decided to enter the seminary.”

The bottom line is that he could not have led a religious revival, because there was too much of his faith he did not believe. As soon as he got his PhD, with a plagiarized dissertation, he immediately started rabble rousing, something he was far better at.
