My husband is scheduled for surgery at Cleveland Clinic next month, and we live several hundred miles away. This is going to require me to stay at a hotel for about a week, and walk to the hospital. I’m thinking of cancelling and looking for a safer hospital.
I don’t blame you, but how many big cities are really all that different?
I think they’ve done some ethnic cleansing around the Cleveland Clinic - it’s not as bad as it used to be. But I think I’d budget for a cab.
If Cleveland Clinic is anywhere near Euclid Avenue then I'd say yes, look elsewhere.
There’s no reason to cancel. I’ve been there twice for surgery. There’s a safe, free and convenient shuttle bus that runs almost constantly between the hospital and the on-campus hotels.
I have been at the Cleveland Clinic twice during the past three years. There are several very convenient places to stay on the Clinic campus, one o which is attached by a sky-walk with the main Clinic hospital building,
There is no need to cancel surgery.
By the way, you chose an excellent place for care.
I would say that is probably one of the wiser moves that you will make in your life if you do. In fact, it may add to your birthdays. Stay far, far away from the zoo as possible. If the police are scared to go there, you sure don’t want to.
