The popular songs of the Big Band Era marked a generation of great music. We don’t hear that kind of writing anymore.
This makes me think of the old black and white movies that had the “supper clubs” in them.

It is all but lost to us.
Today’s music is violent,vulgar and elevates the
concept of thuggery, as though it’s a trait one ought to
achieve.
