Personally, I am sick of the names Chase, Hunter, Madison, Mariah, Laqueesha and Levon so the ones she chose are refreshingly different.

I like the names she chose.

Names run in cycles. Knew we would call my son by his middle name and used a biblical one that was not common. There are dozens and dozens of men with his name now. So much for unique

Yates, Yardley, and Thatcher?

Good grief.

Congratulations on the new little one, but... good grief.

You have a point.

In my family the ancestors used the mother’s maiden name as the middle name, and occasionally as the first name (Ancestor Caswell Kilby is a good example.)

Problem was, the families intermarried (as good Pennsylvania German Mennonites did back then) and before you knew it the poor kids had first and last names that were the same. I actually have a Zimmerman Zimmerman in my family tree.

Nope.

Sarah Palin gave her kids canine names.

Megyn Kelly gave her kids lawyers’ firms’ surnames.

I heard the other day that the most popular baby boy name is Django. Very telling.

I think Yates and Thatcher are nice names.

Yardley just doesn’t seem to work for me, though.

Oh, well, is it any worse than all the Zoe, Haley, Kaylee, or McKenzie...names that are all the rage nowadays?

Zimmerman? Are they racist murderers?

There you go!

Yep..we’ve done some middle names too..my middle name is my grandmother’s maiden name and my grandson’s first name is my father’s middle name. Cousins have done similar...I guess we got on an ancestor jag.

I like it though- certainly for middle names it’s more interesting than Lee or Ann!

Yates and Yardley and Thatcher. Oh my!

Sounds like a law firm..... Yates, Yardley & Thatcher!

And I thought my first & middle names were wierd... Ralph Clarence (named after my grandfather). I don't know what Megan & her husband were thinking!

Seriously, the more "celebrity" status that someone has, the more wierd & outlandish the names are that they pick for their spawning Didn't Kim Kardashian just name her kid "Northwest" or something like that?

Reminds me of a Seinfeld episode when George Constanza wanted to name his first kid "Seven" & George's fiance Susan responded "that's the stupidest name I ever heard".

I think you can say that for just about every celebrity today who pick out names for their kids. If the celebrity is black, the names are just a bunch of constenants thrown together, and if their white, the names are going to be the first thing apparently that they gaze their eyes upon.

I heard the other day that the most popular baby boy name is Django

We all know that'll change about eight months from now....and to keep 'em "unique", there are probably twenty different ways to spell Trayvon - and even more possibilities once the apostrophes kick in.

Those aren’t so bad... it’s the parents coming up with cutesy-ass version spellings of the names. (i.e. Zooey, Haylyee, McKynzey).
