George Zimmerman, an ordinary "white Hispanic" man of Peruvian and Jewish descent, is a decent human being. He mentors black children, stands up for homeless people who are beaten by cops, rescues families in car crashes, and defends himself when attacked.

They are upset for the same reason they are upset that Zimmerman defended a black homeless man who had been beaten by the white son of a police officer, and for the same reason they are upset that Zimmerman tutored black kids for free. All of these things are real world proof that Zimmerman is not the bad guy they so very much want him to be. And these are the same people who deny that Martin gave Zimmerman a broken nose, two black eyes, and repeatedly slammed his head into the concrete - despite the medical evidence, and despite the testimony of witness who were called by the prosecution. The Zimmerman haters have trouble dealing with reality, and hate any real world facts that contradict their fantasy beliefs.

Rational people adjust their beliefs when necessary in order to match any real world evidence that contradicts their beliefs. Irrational people try to change the real world in order to match their irrational beliefs.
