In the wake of the verdict in the Trayvon Martin shooting, several teachers said they would invoke mob justice, vigilantism and the idea that Florida law allows people to hunt and kill black kids when discussing the case with their students.
The Hairpin, a prominent liberal womens blog, asked several teachers, counselors and professors to explain how they would talk about the case which reached its conclusion last week after George Zimmerman was found innocent of Martins murder in their classrooms.
An anonymous English teacher in Alabama said that she would be hesitant to formally teach the subject, but nonetheless thought it could be brought up in relation to vigilantism in literature such as To Kill A Mockingbird and the works of William Faulkner.
The thing is, I see Trayvon Martins everyday, wrote the teacher. I worry about young black men and their prospects in a world where a man is able to kill one without being convicted of something. Even if it isnt as simple as that, kids will see it that way. Rednecks are holding their heads a little higher and tapping the guns on their holsters eager for a stand your ground moment.
Some have alleged that Zimmerman killed Martin in an act of vigilante-style execution, though the jury ultimately acquitted him based on his self-defense claim. Zimmerman suffered bruises and cuts during the altercation, and said that Martin was on top of him and he feared for his life when he fired his gun.
Nevertheless, another teacher cited the verdict as evidence of the fact that Florida law allows people to hunt and kill black youth, and said that it was important to talk about it with students......

I loathe posting. I spell very well I just can’t type for shiite muslim.
Do ya, now?
So, Mizz Teacher ... are you teaching those precious young black men not to murder, rape, rob, assault and burgle? Hmmm? Are you teaching them to speak normal English, to read, write and cipher? Hmmm? Are you teaching them to keep their peckers in their pants until they get married? Hmmm? Are you teaching them to do productive work for a living? Hmmm?
Or are you teaching them to be Trayvon Martins?
If you're teaching them to be Trayvons, Mizz Teacher, you're teaching them to commit "Suicide by Armed Citizen" ... and you should be considered an accessory before and after the fact to all their various crimes.
Errors in this forum may be endemic but I have seen no evidence they are epidemic. LOL
Sigh.
adj.
1. Prevalent in or peculiar to a particular locality, region, or people: diseases endemic to the tropics. See Synonyms at native.
Wrong badge. What you need is one from the spelin’ poleece squad. The thread poleece, they diff’runt.
sigh - do I really have to explain the difference?
Epidemic describes diseases and conditions that spread rapidly and extensively by infection and affect many people at the same time.
Endemic, OTOH, means prevalent in a particular area or among a people, maybe Freepers.
There is no evidence that mis-spellitis is spreading rapidly by infection. It may be endemic and it is certainly prevalent.

The term is broader than that, but it fits socialism and public education as a subset.

You can redefine the term all you like, I offered you Webster's.

See above, complete with vectors.
No question the meaning of the word epidemic has changed, thanks largely to poorly educated journalists. But the word still connotes an infectious or contagious growth.
I have seen no evidence of Freepers ‘catching’ the spelling disease.
Misspellings are prevalent among Freepers but it’s endemic to the group here. They didn’t contract the disease at this site as one would in an epidemic.
So endemic would be the more appropriate term.

Help! Someone call the Thread Police!!
This thread is hijacked. . .*sigh*. . .these ‘f’ng punks always get away with it.’. . .
Mee two!
I see you entirely miss the point. Spending time attacking others on this forum who basically have good hearts and right minds as conservatives, does nothing but “makes this forum look like it is comprised of a bunch of idiots”.
I have very bad eyesight and from time to time may hit the zrong key!
No, I just don't buy it.

Turning a suggestion and admonishment in the interest of protecting the reputation of this forum looks more to me more like you are retaliating for my having pointed out your lack of diligence. It clearly does nothing to advance conservatism.
You are a great person, but I think you need to cool it on policing others... reallly!.... whoops... sorry about that extra “l”.
; )
LOL! Badge probably needs to have an image of Honey Boo Boo.... or perhaps Ms. Rachel Jeantel?
