One of the interesting things about the Duke Lacrosse case was that those kids really were the children of the rich, and the **** really did come down on the DA’s head and on Duke University like a ton of bricks.

Not one of those kids' parents, nor all their parents combined, were wealthy enough to make a difference.

What made the difference was Duke University - and specifically the alumni letting Duke know they were not happy.
