Papa dont panic!
New York City can be a terrifying place to raise kids, so some devoted dads are fighting their fears by disinfecting subway poles, logging the weights of poopy diapers down to the ounce, and keeping the plastic surgeon on speed-dial in casejunior gets a bad boo-boo. Heard of helicopter moms? Consider these hovering pops Black Hawk Dads.
Its just better to be safe than sorry, says Doug, 35, who hand washes cups and plates because he fears the dishwasher releases harmful chemicals, thoroughly cleans shopping carts before letting his 4-year-old daughter sit in them, and stocks his New Jersey home with only non-chemical, white vinegar-based cleaners.

NYC, the city of eunachs, slaves, and deviants.
How the heck did we 60 and older folks ever survive our childhoods???!!!
Conmmon sense made it to 79 in NYC? I’m surprised it was on the list at all.
“At least they will be able to teach their daughters to squat to pee.”
Projectile coffee alert!
Wouldn't be a problem for anyone who didn't live there IF they didn't insist on trying to impose their worldview on the rest of us. NYC exports tyranny vi it's elected representatives and little Napoleons like Bloomberg
OY so glad I moved out of that city last year. I don’t know how I survived there for so long. I grew up there and finally last year came to my senses - woke up when I realized all the time I was wasting living in liberal hell, living in a festering stinking boil of emasculated fem boys and commie dykes. There’s a reason the admitted foreign born twice unconstitutionally elected POTUS Obama Hussein went to NYC once sometimes twice a week when he was unconstitutionally campaigning. Because the subhuman pieces of pig vomit who live there WANT to live under totalitarianism, WANT to live under communism. Look at it now: Run completely under despotism for the past 10 odd years under Mike Bloomberg who tells them what to eat, drink, smoke, what business they can run, what they can own, do,...It’s North Korea but with food.
This is why we need Keep Our Own Kids Safe!
But people don’t often put their hands in the basket, and that’s where you get a lot of contamination.
A huge amount of e coli is found on basket handles, because people don’t wash their hands after leaving the toilet, and then push the carts through the market. They are quite filthy, like money - but who washes their money?
Little ones sit in the cart and put their hands on the handle. My son at 6 mos, got his very first really vicious infection many years ago when I took him through the market and he held onto the handle of the cart while seated. Ended up in the ER. I would wipe down those handles if you have a little one.
Yep, which is why I hate NYC. That and the heavy concentration of whacked out liberals.
“At least they will be able to teach their daughters to squat to pee.”
Just curious - how old are you?
Actually there are differences. Shopping carts get kids will loaded diapers and parents who just changed loaded diapers but who failed to wash properly.
Outside surfaces which get exposure to sunlight aren’t much of a worry since the UV will kill most of the bacteria which can harm us.
Certainly some people take it too far but to say there’s no reason to be concerned with these bugs is just ignorant.
“... I took sanitizing towlettes with me...”
I do as well. I always wiped down the shopping cart before putting the kids in it when they were small. After my oldest got Coxsacky Virus from one when he was about a year old... I never trusted them again.
Roughly 50% of men and ~33% of women do not wash their hands after going using the toilet, #1 or #2.
Think about that the next time you reach for a coffee stirrer at work.
Yep. And vinegar contains that eeeevil dihydrogen monoxide.
(Yes, I managed to type that with a straight face--barely)
HCN is just a chemical.
Good for what ails you...although the cure might be a mite worse than the malady!
It's not limited to NYC. That stuff gets tracked around wherever people live.
Which is why people clean stuff. I know thats shocking.
