Well, part of the life story of Col. West is that he was in the military, and rose through the ranks. He lived his life in a responsible manner.
I wonder how many of these “tough” gang banger types would survive boot camp.
I highly respect West....calls it as it is and states it plainly.
I do think the military can change a man....they grow up and learn responsibility ‘If’ they take advantage of their enlistment....others won’t no matter what they do so they end up back in their culture doing the same old things they did before.
West had the solid footing of good parents...that immediately put him a cut above the rest....he knew the meaning of earning your way and was willing to give it all.
You won’t find gang bangers in boot camp....their domain is to own the streets.
