YES! I just want, somehow, to appeal to all of us not to let this event crowd out the bigger concerns for all Americans, such as the potential gigantic corruption, beyond belief, which might be shaping up at the IRS. We are supposed to hear some big news on that front today. In my opinion, the real tragedy of that lies in uncovering the number of commonplace taxpayers who dared to support the Tea Party with a little donation or Republican candidates with a little donation, who have been fingered by the IRS and unfairly and falsely pursued in a scary and intimidating way. I believe it is a big story waiting to be uncovered and told. I believe Americans, both liberal and conservative, should be very frightened by all this. I hope all FR posters will pay attention.
That is my understanding as well, but I have seen some others dispute that claim. Since I am not a lawyer, I merely submit an argument that in the event a civil claim IS allowed to proceed, this would help bolster the defense case.
