PBS host Tavis Smiley joined Bill O’Reilly to react to O’Reilly’s assertions about the lack of media coverage over black-on-black crime in the United States. Smiley told O’Reilly that institutionally there is a contempt for black men in the United States that has to be addressed. O’Reilly pushed back, while Smiley brought up gun laws and suggested that every black person in the United States should have a gun just to see how the NRA responds.
Smiley argued that there is an empathy gap in that there was much of it for the children victimized in Sandy Hook but not enough for young black Americans suffering on a daily basis. He wondered why the NRA has not come out yet and said that Trayvon Martin would be alive today if he had a gun.
O’Reilly pressed Smiley about whether the trial was unfair, and confronted him about his claim that there is a “contempt” for black Americans in the United States. O’Reilly told him, “America doesn’t have contempt! That’s wrong, it’s fallacious!” Smiley insisted that black men are viewed as a “menace to society” in many cases.
He went down a list of examples for O’Reilly, from the overcriminalization of young black men in the education system to the racial elements of the drug war and high black unemployment....

Meanwhile, the Black community reveres Planned Parenthood, even though M. Sanger, who started PP, believed in the use of abortion to eliminate black people and other races that she deemed inferior.
Blacks can thank Democrats for the problems they have today. For years the Democrats kept handing out the welfare check in exchange for votes. That kept Blacks living in slum housing with no expectation to work and gain a better life. To get what others got they turned to drugs and crime. Democrats need a dependent society and Blacks have been their pawn. Fortunately, many Blacks didn’t subscribe to the Democrat hand-out plan and became successful through initiative and hard work. Plenty of Black doctors, educators, surgeons, lawyers, businessmen and women, etc. who don’t yell “racism” on a continual basis. God bless them!

As long as they pay for the guns themselves and go through the checks like every law abiding citizen has to do before they get the CCW permit.
In my State convicted felons are prohibited from owning guns. Let alone carry one. All good people should be allowed to have a gun. Bad people, no.
Seeing what our government is doing to GZ, I now see the more federal crimes, the worse.

Gee, I can't imagine why. Black men are only 7% of the population and commit nearly 70% of all violent crime.

Trayvon Martin was caught in school with stolen jewelry. It was ignored per a county PD memo to reduce enforcement actions and arrests of Black youth. Had he been arrested, he would be alive today (and would likely have committed many more crimes in the future).
Beat me to the point. Since every black criminal in Chicago has a gun, I am 100% fine with giving law abiding black men and women the ability to defend themselves and their homes.

I have no problem with ANY AMERICAN no matter the color of their skin exercising their 2nd Amendment Rights. Several of my friends that are black carry weapons. I have shot with several.

Thinking about it for a moment, I expect they would want whites to buy it for them and hand them out with their food stamps.
Smiley’s an idiot (no surprise there). Despite the high incidence of violence among black teens and young men, the majority of American blacks are peaceful, law-abiding folk who would benefit from being able to protect themselves from thugs of any creed or skin color. The NRA would be thrilled to see all of those people armed and capable of their own self-defense.
In a similar vein, did we not see stories a couple months ago about a group providing free shotguns to inner-city residents (Houston, IIRC) for home defense?
