Abbott a social Christian conservative??? Then how come he's ignoring one of the 10 Commandments to announce his campaign for governor on a Sunday? "Thou shalt keep the Sabbath Day holy." Either he didn't learrn his 10 Commandments in Bible Study class or he thinks he's the god of Texas, or maybe both.

From his bio page:

In March 2005, General Abbott personally appeared before the United States Supreme Court, where he successfully defended the constitutionality of the Ten Commandments display that adorns the Texas Capitol grounds.

What announcement?
That He is running?

BTW I heard your Tom Pauken the other day in an interview.
He has it out for Abbott.
Tome is fighting hard before there is even a matchup.

Good Luck.

Oh, please. God also said Judge NOT, lest ye be judged, but that little nugget apparently hasn't slowed you down any!

I, for one, an thrilled Abbott's running and wish him the best....

and I don't care what day he announces it on!

(PSST - God said not to labor on the Sabbath, but if Abbott considers the announcement to be an act of affection for the People of the State of Texas.... it would make it no 'labor' at all!)

Hmmm, interesting:

Noob signs up to FR -- gives itself the title TexGrill (m'kay) -- posts "who does he look like?" article about a Texas Republican -- and when confronted about it, purports to be trying to use humor to get the Republican's name out in front of the public -- now Noob posts an article about Texas Governor (another Republican) and suggests he isn't a "real" social Christian Conservative.

Smells like a Democrat operative trolling on FR.

It will be interesting to watch your stay at FR (I'm suspecting that it will be short-lived, but we will see).

Working on Sunday has gone by the wayside years ago......expect run for governor. And before you flame me I had nothing to do with it... just stating facts. If you go to Wal-Mart on Sunday or buy anything at all you are as guilty as the next!!!!

Attorney General Greg Abbott was reelected as the 50th Attorney General of Texas on November 2, 2010. Prior to his election as attorney general, Greg Abbott served as a Justice on the Texas Supreme Court and as a State District Judge in Harris County.

As the state’s chief law enforcement official, Attorney General Abbott has made protecting children and families and values the focus of his administration. Shortly after taking office, Attorney General Abbott established a Cyber Crimes Unit to arrest criminals who use the Internet to prey upon children; a Fugitive Unit to arrest convicted sex offenders who violate their parole; and an expanded Medicaid Fraud Control Unit to crack down on elder abuse and waste of taxpayer dollars. Since taking office, General Abbott has collected more than $24 billion in child support for Texas children.

It’s already over but the trolling. Anybody who doesn’t expect a repeat of Cruz vs. Dewhurst is either asleep or knows something about some planned electronic voter fraud that we don’t.

I live in Georgia now, but lived in Texas for most of my life.

I am not too familiar with Texas politics anymore. I left before Governor Good Hair came into office.

This has got to be bad news for John Cornyn and our local District 31 Rep and a member of the House Gang of 8, John Carter since Abbott already has a very strong standing with the Tea Party’s of Texas.

I will be working to primary the two Johns (I wonder if they have a support ObamaCare sticker on them?)
