An unidentified man was hospitalized with a massive head injury Friday following an apparent bias-fueled attack in the West Village, witnesses and officials said. Witnesses on Greenwich Ave. near W. 12th St. said the white man — who cops said is in his 30s — was belting back beers outside Benny’s Burritos about 5:30 p.m. when he began mouthing off to a black customer in the outdoor seating area.
“You n-----s are why I lost my job,” witnesses overheard the man say.
Outraged, the black man punched the bigoted boozer, sending him reeling backward onto the rain-slick sidewalk.
The man’s head cracked open on the concrete, said one witness who did not want to be named.

In NYC, there is no way the jury will not be at least half black, and there is no way black jurors will convict a fellow black over hitting a white who said "n-word". The prosecutors know this. The defendant knows this too, which is why he won't even submit to a plea bargain.
If indeed the black man has been arrested and is charged, he has a good deal of case law to help him with acquittal.
Here is an excerpt of the jury instructions in the Zimmerman case (with my emphasis):
The killing of a human being is justifiable homicide and lawful if necessarily done while resisting an attempt to murder or commit a felony upon George Zimmerman, or to commit a felony in any dwelling house in which George Zimmerman was at the time of the killing.The killing of a human being is excusable, and therefore lawful, under any one of the following three circumstances:
1. When the killing is committed by accident and misfortune in doing any lawful act by lawful means with usual ordinary caution and without any unlawful intent, or
2. When the killing occurs by accident and misfortune in the heat of passion, upon any sudden and sufficient provocation, or
3. When the killing is committed by accident and misfortune resulting from a sudden combat, if a dangerous weapon is not used and the killing is not done in a cruel or unusual manner.

I completely agree with your first sentence.
However I need to correct you second sentence: "... and chared with attempted murder in the second degree" because he was demonstrating a pre-concieved bias against the viction. Afterall that is now indicated by the precedent of Florida vs. Zimmerman. Isn't my lawyer talk wonderful?

These few people here who think it’s justified to physically attack and cause serious head injury to some drunk, simply because the drunk called them a name is not only insane, but is also very suspect.
I never heard of that, but it was illegal for us to even keep a butter knife by the front seat. We had to be completely weapon free even a butter knife. One cabby told me once he was cited for having a plastic butter knife on his front seat lol! Hey it’s NYC, we don’t want the criminals rights to be violated! He has a right to rob and kill cab drivers. I swear, there is no job on earth more abused by a government than NYC cabs. That’s why I quit, I couldn’t take it anymore. I was getting tickets almost every other day...Dropping someone off - ticket- picking someone up - ticket- with the excuse given I was “Blocking a traffic lane”...Well sorry there officer, but my taxi cannot float in the air.

Sounds like assault and battery possibly with an intent to kill.
Many feel as you describe. They are inadvertently helping the achievement of black control of our society. I think in a sense their legs tingle whenever they hear of whites being injured by blacks.

These people are making some very suspect comments here.
Most of the passengers were cool, but just about every day you would get noes who would be absolute devils from hell....Usually rich women from the upper east side of Manhattan were the worst. It’s amazing how many junkies live up there, just absolute cocaine fanatics completely out of their minds.
