An unidentified man was hospitalized with a massive head injury Friday following an apparent bias-fueled attack in the West Village, witnesses and officials said. Witnesses on Greenwich Ave. near W. 12th St. said the white man — who cops said is in his 30s — was belting back beers outside Benny’s Burritos about 5:30 p.m. when he began mouthing off to a black customer in the outdoor seating area.
“You n-----s are why I lost my job,” witnesses overheard the man say.
Outraged, the black man punched the bigoted boozer, sending him reeling backward onto the rain-slick sidewalk.
The man’s head cracked open on the concrete, said one witness who did not want to be named.

It is hard to argue the guy didn’t deserve to be punched once. Yes, we should handle things non-violently. But it is liberals who have feminized our society to where we can’t just settle things with a good old-fashioned fist-fight.
I don’t see any indication that the black man intended to knock the guy onto the sidewalk, or threaten his life.
I’m not opposed to the police arresting him either — it is a crime to punch people, one that Trayvon Martin would be in prison for now if he hadn’t been stopped by a bullet.

Oddly, there has been quite the argument here in this thread, with several freepers thinking it was OK or understandable for the guy to be punched.
Maybe YOU should read the thread, before asserting something false like “there is no argument here”.
Whether it is HARD to argue that he didn’t deserve to be punched, as I said, is truly an opinion about the difficulty thereof — clearly people ARE arguing it, and I can’t even argue against the guy being arrested.
But I grew up in a time where occasionally, people hit you. I was punched several times in school. NOBODY was ever arrested for it, and I would never have WANTED anybody arrested for it. It was certainly a bad thing for bullies to exist, but we have lost all sense of proportion.
If someone ever insulted my wife, I might well punch them. That’s my job.

You may not physically attack someone because he called you a poopy head or some such. If every time a black racist spouted off he got physically attacked... You don’t hang out with drunk people if you don’t want to be offended. Visit your granny where every is all peaches and cream.
I hope they catch the thug and he gets prosecuted. I would not want him attacked and harmed like that for saying “cracker’ or “wet back”, “gook” etc. In the spirit of the dummies on the board, if they don’t prosecute the thug, I hope the victim’s Uncle Guido pays the thug a visit.
Happens every night in black communities across the land resulting in quite a body count year after year.
This instance more closely resembles this phenomena than it does some old fashioned face saving duel.
Its wrong by anyone's standard and it shouldn't be rationalized, excused or tolerated.
