I’ve read somewhere on FR that many of them do think this. Many really believe that they are half or even more of the population.

Sometimes I wonder if they really believe that they are 50 percent of the population, instead of around 10. Critical thinking must be taught, and in today's NEA curriculum, self-esteem trumps strong analytical skills.
On the other hand, I'm sure this poor soul believes himself to be the smartest person in whatever room he enters.
